There are no set strategies for winning roulette although people do play the game differently. Many people who have played roulette for long periods of time choose to stick with the winning numbers. To these people, these numbers have been selected for a reason, and they believe the numbers are “hot.” In turn, the players think the ball may be more likely to drop into any one of these “hot” numbers.

On the other hand, some players who have been playing the game for years will tend to bet on numbers that have not come up for a long period in the game. These numbers, the players believe, will be more likely to pop up since they have not been selected in a while. Statistically speaking, both methods of playing the game have not been proving to winning a round of roulette.

In order to reduce their chance of losing, some players may bet on multiple numbers, or they may make outside bets. Outside bets consist of betting on all of a certain color, either red or black. The players may also bet on all of a certain type of number, odd or even. Although this reduces the chances of losing, the player will not receive nearly as much payout as he would for a single winning bet.
